Sapporo Art Park is situated in undulating green forests.
The park is 7.5 hectares and 74 art works produced by 65 artists are on display, including pieces by modern Japanese sculptors and Gustaf Viegeland, a Norwegian sculptor, and other works presented by Sapporo's sister cities.
The artists of many of these works actually visited the park to fit their works into the geological landscape, the surrounding conditions, and the climate of Sapporo.
These sculptures show various expressions according to the time and the weather of northern Japan, which varies greatly from season to season. You can encounter these sculptures among the trees in the open air. |
